SOUTHFIELD, MI - August 27, 2008 - Lauren Sobel has joined Southfield-based Jaffe Raitt Heuer & Weiss, P.C., as an associate in the Firm's Corporate, Finance and Israel Practice Groups.  Jaffe CEO Richard Zussman made the announcement.

Ms. Sobel previously served as a senior associate at Elchanan Landau Law Offices in Jerusalem, Israel, where she concentrated her practice in the areas of infrastructure and energy, project financing, commercial arbitration and corporate and commercial law.

She is a 1989 honors graduate of Wesleyan University, a former Doctoral Fellow of Johns Hopkins University and a 2001 graduate of the Hebrew University Faculty of Law in Jerusalem, Israel.

A guest lecturer at the Hebrew University Faculty of Law, she also served as a Foreign Liaison Coordinator and Translator for the Jewish Agency for Israel.
